Welcome to Bad Rodach - Groß
The town of Bad Rodach is located in north-west Bavaria, on the border with Thuringia. It belongs to the district of Coburg and thus to the region of Upper Franconia. With its historic architecture, the town has retained the charm of its medieval culture. The centre of the town of 6,400 inhabitants is the pretty market square with its fountain. The town has officially been able to call itself a "spa" since 1999. This is because the town is home to the hottest thermal springs in Upper Franconia. The local thermal baths are known far beyond the town boundaries and are popular with guests and residents alike. Bad Rodach offers residents all the essentials for their daily needs, such as supermarkets, doctors specialising in the most important fields and restaurants. There are also five public and one company kindergarten as well as a primary and secondary school. Economically, the town is in an excellent position for its size. Bad Rodach offers its residents more than 4,300 jobs. Well-known companies, such as the toy and furniture manufacturer Haba and the air conditioning systems manufacturer Valeo, even ensure a positive commuter balance. While 1,500 people commute into Bad Rodach every day, only 800 people leave the town to get to work. Most commuters are drawn to Coburg, where HUK-Coburg, one of Germany's best-known insurance companies, has its headquarters. The entire district of Coburg is also a member of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.
