Welcome to Duisburg
Duisburg is located in the far west of the Ruhr region. The city between the Rhine
and Ruhr is not only the "steel heart" of Europe. Thanks to its trimodal
accessibility by water, road and rail, the city with a population of around
500,000 inhabitants, has also developed into one of the most important logistics hubs
logistics hubs in Germany. The centrepiece is the inland port - the largest
largest of its kind in the world. The city also has access to four motorways. This means that Duisburg has excellent connections to the dense motorway network of North Rhine-Westphalia. With its comparatively low property prices, rising rents and high potential returns, Duisburg is considered an insider tip among property investors.
This also has to do with the Ruhr metropolis, in which Duisburg is perfectly embedded.
Duisburg is embedded in. The interconnected economic area is home to
of around five million people and is characterised above all by a large amount of space for
companies, huge recreational areas and low property prices. The smoking chimneys of the past are long gone in the Ruhr metropolis. Today, the region is highly attractive for young people, who find the space and conditions for modern lifestyles, visions and ideas here. The region around Duisburg is thus strongly reminiscent of Berlin in the 2000s, which marked the start of the capital's upswing. The Ruhr metropolis has now taken a similar path.
